The IMEA Counsel will provide comprehensive legal advice and support across the India, Middle East, and Africa region for Oliver Wyman Group’s businesses. You will be part of a dynamic legal team that supports business growth by managing legal risks, negotiating contracts, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a fast-paced, global consulting environment. This role reports to the Chief Counsel and will be based in Jordan.
We will count on you to:
Provide corporate advice and support on a wide range of legal issues and projects to the OWG businesses in the India, Middle East, and Africa region.Manage contract lifecycle processes and implement risk mitigation strategies aligned with regional business practices.Draft, review, and negotiate a high volume of client and third-party agreements, including client services agreements, master services agreements, statements of work, confidentiality agreements, release letters, software development and licensing agreements, vendor agreements, data processing addenda, collaboration agreements, and other legal documents.Provide expert advice on regulatory compliance matters relevant to the GCC, including but not limited to financial services regulations, data protection laws, and sector-specific regulatory frameworks.Support HR and business teams on workforce-related legal issues and employee relations.Identify liability exposure and provide creative solutions to manage and reduce risk.Interact with outside counsel for the company as well as outside counsel for adverse parties.Conduct negotiations with external third parties, escalating unresolved legal issues to other members of the legal department as appropriate.Provide business colleagues with practical advice and guidance, developing solutions to issues while managing business and legal considerations.Interpret and explain contract terms and legal issues to internal business colleagues.Assist with responding to RFP proposals to prospective clients.Manage workflow effectively in a proactive and responsive fashion.Act as a strategic legal partner to senior management, balancing risk management with business objectives.What you need to have:
Qualification and license to practice law, ideally in a common law jurisdiction.A bachelor’s degree, including a law degree from a recognized university.A seasoned attorney with 10+ years of experience in either a law firm or in-house legal environment.Proven ability to independently review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, and a strong grasp of contractual risk.Experience in Employment Law, Data Privacy, and/or M&A is highly desirable.Proven expertise in regulatory compliance, employment and labor law, and commercial contracting in the GCC.Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing Arabic is essential.What makes you stand out?
