Manages operational policies within area(s) managed Helps avoid erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results that can lead to significant expenditure of time, human resources, and money Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and resolve technical problems Receives predetermined work assignments that are subject to a moderate level of control and review Manages employees on shift on an ongoing basis with accountability for costs, schedules, productivity, and performance standards Works on moderate to complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of objectives Identifies moderate to complex problems and reviews related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions Communicates detailed plans for work assignments and is second point of contact for issues that arise on the shift Works on issues independently Directs subordinates to complete assignment using established guidelines, procedures and policies Performs daily work independently from manager Following established practices and procedures in analyzing situations and/or data Monitors daily operationsCore Job Functions
Upholds company policy and ground rules Follows company policies and local, state, and federal laws Enforces safety procedures and protocol Maintains KPIs or and identifies/implements actions for improvement Provides training, mentoring, performance improvement and career development to personnel on shift or in functional area Confers with other supervisors and managers to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments Coordinates activities/communication between Engineers and Technicians in the operational areas; coordinates cross functional communication as needed Ensures that documentation is properly updated and clear (SOPs, Certifications, PTPs, functional area policies etc.) Drives continuous improvement activities on shift Manages, mentors, and trains staff outside of shift Prepares work schedules and assigns specific duties Establishes and implements team or departmental policies, goals, objectives, and procedures, conferring with appropriate parties Works with manager to develop team and systems Determines staffing requirements in conjunction with Human Resources and participates in recruiting processes such as phone screening and interviewing Adapts to and implements change: Accepts that change is inevitable and embraces change with innovation, courage, and resiliency Consistently demonstrates work ethics and values. Conducts duties of the position with truth, sincerity and fairness. Strong adherence to ground rules Understands the importance of mentoring and coaching employees. Understands factory automation and systems or functional area systems Effectively communicates via verbal/written means to immediate team and Client departments Has intermediate project management skills Has intermediate knowledge of relevant software tools and languages Possesses intermediate data analysis skills; and can analyze & interpret data on a basic level Has basic knowledge of relevant engineering principles Has a working knowledge of best practices regarding managing people Understands the laws and regulations regarding hiring and managing people Possesses strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritization Applicants must be legally authorized to work for ANY employer in the United States. 2 or 4 year college degree or technical school certification preferred Typically requires 10+ years of experienceRequired Certifications: Trade education and / or certification (e.g. NCCER) preferred
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Frequently wears Chem suits and other PPE per Client protocol Potential to ascend/descend ladders for an extended period of time to complete duties Frequently remains in a stationary position for extended periods of time Frequently work is done at a computer terminal Frequently moves about the inside and outside of the office, storage buildings, factory, and/or other buildings to access office machinery, factory equipment and/or materials associated with Client operations Constantly needs to be able to exchange information in an accurate manner as it relates to the essential job functions, skills, and abilities Frequently moves supplies and equipment that is less than 25 pounds Needs to be able to discern audible alarms Needs to be able to smell hazards in the factory/worksite Must be able to detect hazards in the work environment Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust Ability to multitask without loss of efficiency or accuracy, including the ability to perform multiple duties from multiple sources Ability to work as an integral part of a team Ability to maintain regular attendance and be punctual Ability to understand, remember and follow verbal and written instructions Ability to complete assigned tasks without direct supervision Ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions Ability to perform under stress Ability to work effectively and efficiently in high stress and conflict situationsWorking Conditions
Potential to frequently work with and be exposed to materials which contain hazardous chemicals Regularly works around moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include weather, heat, and humidity May have to work in a clean room May have to position oneself in a tight fitting area May be exposed to yellow and blinking lights May be required to support and/or work shift duties in a 24x7 manufacturing environment
