Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at either the Raleigh, NC or Charlotte, NC office.

Note: The qualified candidate for this position must have at least 5 years of transportation hydraulic design experience, preferably with NCDOT projects.

Job Description

Lead and support hydrology and hydraulic analysis for roadway and transportation projects Design stormwater management systems, ponds, and conveyance systems Perform erosion control and outfall analysis to ensure compliance with environmental standards Contribute to all aspects of roadway drainage design including culverts, bridges, ditches, BMPs, and watershed studies Conduct site visits and fieldwork to confirm existing conditions Develop hydrologic and hydraulic improvements for roadway and drainage projects Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, sub-consultants, and permitting agencies Extract and analyze data from MicroStation, GEOPAK Drainage, HEC-RAS, and related tools Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets when assigned

Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred Minimum of 5 years of hydraulic design experience, ideally with NCDOT projects Proficiency with MicroStation, GEOPAK Drainage, and HEC-RAS Working knowledge of NCDOT Guidelines for Drainage Studies and Hydraulic Design and FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual Soil erosion and sediment control design experience Familiarity with OpenRoads Designer and SUDA is a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (sponsorship not available)
