Job Description

The Hydraulics/Installation Technician will be responsible for working in the Installation Department, installing and proper up fitting of hydraulics in work trucks and truck components in their heavy-duty snow and Ice truck equipment. Candidate will also be responsible for troubleshooting, light maintenance, modification and repair work in their work area. Candidates will be using previous knowledge of shop tools, welding, hand plasma, and cutting torches for the up fitting of truck beds and plows.

ResponsibilitiesInstall, service, inspect, and troubleshoot hydraulic systems and components in heavy-duty work truck builds.Perform diagnostic and repair work on electrical systems.Read schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to guide electrical and wiring work.Conduct preventative maintenance of shop tools and equipment.Engage in routine work, troubleshooting, and light maintenance in assigned areas.Modify and repair work in various bays, including heavy/fabrication, hydraulic, electrical, and body work.Essential SkillsProficiency in reading schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.Experience with electrical installation, wiring, and cabling.Ability to perform shop math.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with custom fabrication for component mounting.Experience with car alarms or remote start systems is a plus.Ability to use a variety of skills, such as welding, running hand plasma, and cutting torch.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The hydraulic assembler works in a well-equipped and clean shop environment, with a schedule from Monday to Thursday, 5:30 am to 4:00 pm, and Friday, 5:00 am to 3:30 pm. The team receives brand new trucks from dealerships and is responsible for installing hydraulic and electrical attachments, welding truck beds, and adding components like snow plows and salt dispensers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntley, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
