Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented HVAC Chiller Test Technician to join our team. This role involves performing functional and performance testing on commercial and industrial chillers to ensure they meet quality and operational standards before delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration cycles, and electrical controls.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and conduct performance and functional tests on air-cooled and water-cooled chillers.Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.Monitor and record system parameters such as pressures, temperatures, voltages, and currents.Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control issues during testing.Calibrate and maintain test equipment and instrumentation.Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations.Document test results and communicate findings to engineering and quality teams.Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conforming units.Support continuous improvement initiatives in the test area.Essential SkillsAbility to diagnose and repair malfunctions and log specific data for needed repairs.Ability to LOTO 480, de-energize, and make electrical repairs.Ability to identify and make mechanical repairs.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related field preferred.2+ years of experience in HVAC testing, service, or installation, preferably with chillers.Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressors, heat exchangers, and control systems.Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.Familiarity with test instruments such as multimeters, pressure gauges, flow meters, and data loggers.EPA Universal Certification (preferred).Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work is performed in a manufacturing or test facility environment with exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and varying temperatures. The role may require lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
