**Austin Industrial** is currently seeking a **HVAC Technician** to join our staff located at **Franklin, VA.** They must be able to perform installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers, and packaged units throughout the district. Other duties may be assigned.
**Specific Duties and Responsibilities:**
+ Diagnose, repair, and install plant mechanical systems in pulp and paper manufacturing industry.
+ Perform preventative maintenance on equipment like conveyors and presses
+ Read mechanical prints and diagrams (including HVAC systems)
+ Other duties as assigned.

+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
**Qualifications:**
+ Experience – 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
+ Critical thinking; predictive and preventative maintenance, finding root cause of failure.
+ Work positively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems.
+ Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to work alone, with a partner, or as a member of a team maintaining safety, quality & productivity.
+ Engage in preventative maintenance processes through facility.
+ Willingness to cross train and learn new skills in other technical areas to enhance capabilities.
+ Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes, stores and work order
**Requirements** **:**
+ High school diploma or equivalent required.
+ Valid Driver's License
+ HVAC Certification required
+ Meet physical demands as listed above
+ Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
+ Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
