Job Title: HVAC TechnicianJob Description

This role involves reporting to the Refrigeration Shop to perform planned maintenance, repairs, and other projects on properties. The individual will work independently or as part of a team, including collaborating with other trades. The work includes handling commercial and residential HVAC systems and various refrigeration equipment.

ResponsibilitiesInstall, troubleshoot, repair, and replace chillers, central air systems, window air conditioners, and refrigeration equipment.Adjust or replace worn or defective mechanisms and parts, and reassemble repaired systems.Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.Collaborate with heat mechanics in maintaining, servicing, and repairing HVAC equipment and boiler equipment, including water treatment.Service, repair, and rebuild pumps and compressors.Essential SkillsProficiency in HVAC, refrigeration, service, troubleshooting, mechanical repair, and preventive maintenance.Possession of EPA Universal or EPA 608 Certification.2+ years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC service and troubleshooting.Refrigeration experience.Experience in electrical work, boiler, and chiller maintenance.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience troubleshooting HVAC in a commercial or industrial setting.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position requires responding to HVAC equipment maintenance across campus, with varying temperatures depending on the time of year and location. The role involves bending, squatting, lifting, and occasionally working in smaller spaces. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the possibility of rotating on-call duties.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.84 - $38.00/hr.
