Job Title: HVAC Service Technician

Job Description

As a Residential HVAC Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in homes. This role requires a keen understanding of HVAC systems and excellent customer service skills to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of homeowners.

Responsibilities

Install new HVAC systems and equipment in residential homes.Perform routine checks and maintenance to ensure systems run efficiently.Diagnose and repair issues with HVAC systems, including emergency repairs.Communicate effectively with homeowners to explain issues and provide maintenance tips.Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety standards.

Essential Skills

Technical knowledge of HVAC systems.Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.Good customer service and communication skills.Physical stamina and manual dexterity.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.Completion of an approved HVAC apprenticeship program preferred.Proven work experience as an HVAC technician, typically 1-5 years.EPA certification for handling refrigerants is required.Additional certifications like NATE (North American Technician Excellence) are beneficial.A valid driver's license is often required.

Work Environment

The typical work week is Monday to Friday, starting at 7 am, with some weekend work and overtime required. The role involves mostly residential new construction. The job requires physical demands such as talking, hearing, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting equipment up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The work environment exposes employees to moving mechanical parts, fumes, extreme heat, electrical shock risks, outside weather conditions, and occasionally loud noise levels. Safety is paramount, and employees must practice safe work habits and use appropriate safety equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
