HVAC Technician
Job Title: HVAC Technician

Job Description

The HVAC Technician will be responsible for performing general, preventative, and emergency maintenance of facilities equipment, with a strong emphasis on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and process systems. The role includes the operation, diagnosis, analysis, and repair of industrial HVAC equipment such as boilers, chillers, air handling units, VAV systems, and more.

Responsibilities

Operate, diagnose, analyze, and repair industrial HVAC equipment, including boilers, chillers, air handling units, VAV systems, hydronic systems, air compressors, air dryers, and exhaust ventilation.Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems, including required calibrations.Install or repair ductwork, refrigeration piping, air conditioning units, and exhaust equipment.Conduct brazing, soldering, and welding tasks.Utilize BMS experience and be familiar with Automated Logic, Siemens, and Ignition systems.Inspect all mechanical and electrical equipment and systems periodically.Monitor and escort sub-contractors performing work.Contribute to day-to-day operations, including tasks outside the normal skill set, such as restroom repair.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HVAC technician in industrial/commercial or lab/R&D environments.EPA Certification.Understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) interfaces and devices.Familiarity with Automated Logic, Siemens controls, and similar control systems.Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Knowledge of HVAC and electrical codes.Technical ability in the installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial HVAC systems.Ability to consult manuals, read and interpret circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.Self-directed with strong organizational skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Associates Degree or Trade School preferred.Professional demeanor with outstanding customer focus.Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethics.Extensive training in safety practices.

Work Environment

Work onsite at the Kato Fremont location, with travel to the Fremont Factory as needed. Join a team of 15 technicians, not including engineers. Shifts are Monday to Friday, 7 am to 5 pm, with occasional Saturdays.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $50.00/hr.
