HVAC Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated HVAC Technician responsible for delivering effective and efficient service to multiple customers within an assigned geographic territory. This role involves traveling to various commercial properties to maintain and service HVAC systems, as well as performing minor carpentry, plumbing, and electrical maintenance. The technician will conduct preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot and service commercial HVAC systems, and utilize multiple trade skills to solve maintenance problems. Strong communication skills are essential for fostering relationships with customers, vendors, and team members. An on-call rotation is also a part of this position.

ResponsibilitiesComplete thorough Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services on standard package and split unit HVAC systems, including inspection and repair/replacement of belts and pulleys, and cleaning of condensate drain lines.Perform general repairs on steam/hot water boiler systems and diagnose airflow and ducting issues.Use refrigerants safely and in compliance with EPA standards for package and split unit HVAC systems.Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, or system failures on HVAC systems, including belts, pulleys, compressors, and leaks.Perform minor plumbing maintenance, such as unclogging toilets and repairing leaks.Conduct routine painting and carpentry work to maintain facilities in like-new condition.Perform minor electrical maintenance within state law requirements.Complete service and asset inspections, utilizing technology effectively.Create and submit Service Reports and Quality Inspection images and reports.Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs.Maintain consistent communication with customers and internal support teams to ensure customer satisfaction.Complete required safety and compliance training and attend weekly safety meetings.Provide estimates for larger projects and services needed on-site.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position covers the entire Chicagoland area in Illinois. The work hours are from 5 AM to 1:30 PM, Monday through Friday, which may change to 7 AM to 3:30 PM in the future.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
