Overview
**This position will be physically located in Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP**

Under the supervision of the HVAC Mechanic Lead, the HVAC Mechanic IV provides maintenance, repair, and replacement of heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment using knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout.
Responsibilities
+ Serves as lead HVAC on maintenance, renovation, and new-build projects.
+ Performs Master technician-level HVAC work involving installation, maintenance, and repair of DX systems, package units, chillers, heat pumps, and air-handling equipment.
+ Diagnoses and corrects refrigerant, electrical, and control faults; ensures compliance with ASHRAE, NFPA 70E, and LOGCAP V / V2X safety standards.
+ Provides mentoring and QA/QC support for junior mechanics
+ Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
+ High school diploma or technical trade school certificate (technical school preferred)
+ Valid driver’s license
+ Experience:
+ Eight to nine years HVAC experience in industrial or commercial settings
+ Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, refrigeration cycles, and building automation
+ Ability to read complex schematics and perform system analysis
+ Proficient in estimating, layout, and complex repairs
+ Leadership and mentoring skills
+ Certifications:
+ EPA 608 Universal Certification (required)
+ OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Card (required)
+ NFPA 70E Qualified Worker (required)
+ First Aid / CPR (required)
+ Lock-Out / Tag-Out Authorized Employee (required)
+ Skills:
+ Must possess the technical skill to identify repair requirements as it pertains to HVAC equipment.
+ Must have expert knowledge of equipment manuals for servicing, operations and repair of HVAC systems.
+ Must be an expert in corrective actions performed by maintenance teams.
+ Must have the ability to document and report inspection findings using pictures on required forms.
+ Must be detail-oriented, have excellent time management skills, and have exceptional customer service skills.
+ Must be proficient in all phases of documentation as it pertains to servicing, maintenance, repairs, classification, etc.
+ Must have expert knowledge of equipment operations as it is critical to providing a quality inspection program.
+ Must be capable of giving and receiving instructions during the course of normal duties.
+ Must be capable of working independently with little-or-no guidance.
+ Must be willing to adapt to rapidly-changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
+ Working Conditions:
+ Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
+ Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).
+ Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well
+ The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes..
+ The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside
+ The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level.
+ The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals
+ Physical Requirements
+ Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
+ Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
+ Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
+ Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
