**Job Title: Building Technician**
**Job Description**
The HVAC Helper plays a vital role in maintaining, installing, and repairing HVAC systems, equipment, and components. Working under the guidance of experienced HVAC mechanics or supervisors, the technician performs tasks using the tools and techniques of HVAC technology. This role requires adherence to safety protocols and involves problem-solving and managing information effectively.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform maintenance, installation, and repair work on HVAC systems under supervision.
+ Apply HVAC and safety knowledge in daily tasks.
+ Safely use tools and equipment relevant to HVAC work.
+ Identify and avoid hazards using warning labels, signage, lights, and other devices.
+ Complete work within reasonable timeframes as per industry standards.
+ Communicate effectively with departmental and staff members using proficient written and verbal English skills.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficient in facility maintenance and HVAC systems.
+ Knowledge of building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and general troubleshooting.
+ Experience with preventive maintenance and repair techniques.
+ Ability to identify hazards and implement safety measures.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ More than 1 year of work experience in a related field.
+ Successful completion of or current enrollment in a state-approved Journey HVAC program at a vocational or technical school, college, or apprenticeship sponsor organization.
+ High School Diploma or GED.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
