About the role:
Hamad International Airport is seeking a highly skilled and organized individual to join our team as HVAC Engineer. · Implement department asset management strategy in coordination with multiple stakeholders to ensure that all HVAC assets meet or exceed the required performance levels.
· Manage a portfolio of capital projects including new build and expansion projects to support business expansion.
· Support large expansion projects as well as internally managed projects by leading a team of technical officers for the design review, calculation, report, testing and commissioning, and hand over documents.
· Ensure timely preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC systems are carried out by managing and monitoring outsourced vendors in order to sustain the asset condition for supporting business continuity.
· Manage asset condition survey and asset optimization for existing and new assets based on standard assessment index, providing action and recommendations for assets with low scores.
· Ensure that condition surveys and technical evaluations for essential HVAC assets are completed with relevant local and international regulations.
· Support HIA environmental vision by setting energy saving targets by developing a strategy and action plan to reduce the consumption of utilities in their respective facilities.
· Support management with critical decision-making related to HVAC systems with sound understanding of technical requirements, business needs, risks & mitigation measures to support business continuity and expansion.
· Continuously improve in-house contractor’s productivity and optimize resources through monitoring and direct engagement leading to cost saving for facilities maintenance. Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
· Implement asset maintenance optimization to reduce cost of periodic maintenance while ensuring desired performance level of assets.
· Perform technical evaluation of internally managed projects and participate in negotiation with external consultants.
· Establish the department or team’s objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
· Regularly evaluate the department or team’s objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and make appropriate changes as needed.
· Oversee and supervise employees; direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery.
· Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.
