Job Title: HVAC Design Engineer
Job Description
Design and develop control software for building automation systems, translating sequences of operations into robust, scalable code. Program in Script, Function Block, and other automation languages to deliver high-performance solutions. Work with platforms like Tridium Niagara and EcoStruxure to build and customize control systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to ensure alignment and excellence. Commission and troubleshoot systems to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Create intuitive front-end graphics and user interfaces for building operators. Conduct peer code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of software standards. Support sustainability and energy strategies through smart automation.

3+ years of experience in building automation and controls programming.Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C#, Function Block.Hands-on experience with DDC systems, HVAC controls, and environmental automation.Familiarity with Tridium Niagara and/or EcoStruxure.Excellent communication skills.Collaborative mindset.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in building automation systems.Knowledge of building automation programming and software programming.Skills in graphics and network connectivity.Work Environment
The team consists of 13 building automation software engineers focusing on BMS, security systems, power, and environmental projects. 5% of the time involves field travel in and around the Chicago area for meetings, using personal vehicles with mileage reimbursement. Initially, work will be in-office, transitioning to remote flexibility with mandatory in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Annual travel for training may be required to locations such as Andover, MA; Dallas or Houston; Nashville. Mandatory OSHA and CPR training is required annually to comply with H&S policies.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80640.00 - $120960.00/yr.
