HVAC Building Engineer (Dallas, Tx) Job ID 257001 Posted 22-Jan-2026 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Engineering/Maintenance Location(s) Dallas - Texas - United States of America **About the Role:** As a CBRE HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for the comprehensive maintenance, operation, and optimization of central utility plants supporting a main hospital and surrounding medical office buildings. This role requires a proactive approach to maintaining commercial HVAC systems, ensuring peak performance, energy efficiency, and a safe, comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The HVAC Building Engineer will also engage directly with clients, providing professional and effective solutions to facility-related concerns. This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems. **What You’ll Do:** + Maintain and operate central utility plants, including boilers, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, generators, and water towers, ensuring continuous and efficient performance. + Perform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on all commercial HVAC systems and related equipment. + Monitor Freon and pressure readings to ensure optimal system functionality and compliance with environmental regulations. + Set up and configure new Building Automation Systems (BAS), with a specific focus on Siemens platforms. + Conduct regular equipment readings and perform diagnostic tests to anticipate and prevent potential issues. + Execute water quality testing and maintain water systems to established standards. + Complete work orders efficiently and accurately, utilizing a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). + Install, repair, adjust, service, and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration, including calibration of instruments, gauges, and control components. + Troubleshoot equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement effective modifications or repairs. + Perform general facility upkeep, including tasks such as painting, patching, and sweeping, to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and appearance. + Conduct light plumbing maintenance, including pipe fitting and simple repairs (excluding pipe threading). + Interact professionally and effectively with clients, addressing concerns and providing clear communication on maintenance activities and resolutions. + Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions. + Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function. + Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement. + Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams. + Work within broad guidelines and policies. + Explain difficult or sensitive information. **What You’ll Need:** + High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred. + Proven experience in Commercial HVAC maintenance. + Demonstrated proficiency with Building Automation Systems (BAS), particularly Siemens. + Strong technical aptitude for diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical systems. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. + Highly preferred: EPA 608 License. + Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. + Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information. + Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions. + In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. + Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset. + Sophisticated math skills.
