Responsibilities The Human Resources Specialist – Information Systems (HRIS) position is located in the Office of Human Resources at the National Gallery of Art and reports directly to the Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer. This position serves as the Gallery's expert on human resources and administrative information systems and related business processes. The incumbent is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and improving information systems and technology solutions that support human resources operations, promote efficiency and compliance, and ensure broad access to accurate and timely information across the Gallery. As the Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) you will: Serve as an expert in assessing business processes, utilizing automation to further streamline and improve work practices. Design, develop, test and implement administrative and human resources management information systems and interrelated human resources and administrative business processes for the organization. Apply advanced administrative and human resources information technology principles, concepts, methods and practices to reengineer and improve service. Propose plans for the development, enhancement and maintenance of information systems in order to improve HR and administrative processes. Advise on and manage technology solutions and systems, including intranet web content and document management tools, to enhance employment operations, improve organizational efficiency, ensure compliance, and support broad access to information across the Gallery. Qualifications Specialized Experience: You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined as leading, administering, or serving as a primary point of contact for an HR information system or related workforce systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Education This position does not have a basic education requirement.
