The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a motivated and talented candidate to join our firm as the Human Resources Senior Manager for our Orange County and San Diego offices, located in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, the Senior Manager will partner closely with office leadership to support employee engagement and office culture.
The Senior Manager will serve as the leader of the Human Resources and administrative functions for both the Orange County and San Diego offices. They will collaborate with the National Human Resources team and functional leads throughout the firm to ensure consistency in policies and practices. This role provides both strategic HR leadership locally and hands-on administrative oversight, supervising the teams and processes that keep the offices running smoothly day to day.
Because this is a hybrid role with a 60% in-office expectation, the Senior Manager will be a visible, on-site leader who helps foster collaboration, reinforce our culture, and support employees and leaders in real time, while also effectively partnering with national teams in a flexible work environment.
Primary job responsibilities include:
Supervise the Human Resources and administrative functions, including supervision of all non-revenue-producing personnel in the Orange County and San Diego offices, reporting directly to the Office Managing Director for Orange County/San Diego.Human Resources Responsibilities:
Partner with office leadership to make hiring, employee development, exit, and succession planning decisions to support our growth objectivesAdvise and coach managers on matters related to employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, and firm valuesAct as an advisor to employees by providing counsel, coaching, gathering feedback, and resolving employee relations issues successfullyManage the onboarding and new hire lifecycleCoach team members through our performance management processConduct separation interviews, analyze results, and share insights with leadershipLead or participate in firm-wide HR projects and initiativesCommunicate with employees regarding our benefits programsMaintain current knowledge of federal and state labor lawsOversee the administration of employee files, paperwork, and documentationAdministrative Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing the administrative functions and supervising team members in these roles, including Talent Acquisition, Client Team Support, and Asset Management (billing responsibilities)Plan and coordinate off-sites; assist as necessary with external events (networking or internal meetings)Assist with planning and coordinating for annual eventsTalent Acquisition Responsibilities:
Supervise the Talent Acquisition team member, providing support as needed, to execute the following:Partner with office leadership and the National Talent Acquisition team to oversee the recruitment strategy for the officesEnsure we have an effective recruitment strategy at local college campuses and are developing a strong pipeline of candidatesManage experienced recruitment for Practice and Practice Management Group open positionsThe Requirements
Bachelor's degreeHuman resources certification – SHRM or HRCI (SPHR/PHR)11 or more years of relevant work experienceProfessional services firm experience a plusExcellent process and problem-solving skillsEffective communication skills, including verbal (logical and organized), written, and listeningAnalytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills; responds to requests with a sense of urgencyAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environmentAdvanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Power Point, and Excel)
Compensation and Benefits:
Our firm offers a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being, growth, and long-term success of our people. Salary Range: For individuals hired to work in Orange County, the expected salary range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skill set.
Benefits: Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage. Employees may enroll in the firm’s 401(k) plan upon hire.
