Human Resources Manager/Director | Onsite in Lorton, VA | Pay: 90k - 110k/yr | 9-month contract-to-hire Job Description The Human Resources Manager/Director will play a vital role in both administrative and strategic responsibilities, assisting with key functions such as staffing, onboarding, development, compensation, and benefits. This position is essential for enhancing the efficiency of the HR department and improving the employee experience. Responsibilities + Leverage knowledge of new procedures and policies to improve employee experience and HR department efficiency. + Enhance new hire pre-boarding, onboarding, and benefits orientation/enrollment processes. + Direct the annual open enrollment process and collaborate with the firm broker to select benefit offerings. + Manage payroll processing, including biweekly and semimonthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, vacation/sick pay, expense reimbursements, hourly-employee validations, and benefits changes. + Oversee employment files, process required paperwork, and perform data entry to ensure HR systems are accurate. + Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and applicable employment laws, updating policies and procedures when necessary. + Support leaders and employees in managing employee relations opportunities, issues, or concerns. + Partner with team members to coordinate various office events, including holiday parties, volunteering outings, and new hire lunches. Essential Skills + 6-10 years of HR experience, with recent experience as a generalist. + Experience in the construction or related industry. + HR certification required. + Certified payroll experience. + Fluency in English and Spanish. + High School Diploma. Additional Skills & Qualifications + SHRM certification or any HR certifications. + Experience with Arcoro software or similar. + Ability to train and support other HR Generalists. Work Environment This is an in-office role that requires daily attendance. The position involves heavily focusing on onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and general HR duties. The work environment is supportive, and there is a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lorton, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
