What Matters Most:Competitive Pay of $90,000-$105,000 per year Schedule: Mon – Fri / 8:00am – 5:00pm (with some evening work to be expected)Location: On-site | Conroe, TX 77303Direct Hire opportunity with career growth and stabilityJob Description:This is a hands-on Human Resources Manager role with a food manufacturer based in Conroe, supporting a plant and warehouse workforce across multiple shifts. The position is highly visible and employee-facing, with a strong focus on employee relations, compliance, safety partnership, payroll, and culture. The HR Manager partners closely with leadership and department managers to manage day-to-day HR operations, lead recruiting and onboarding, administer payroll and benefits, and ensure compliance with employment laws and food safety standards. This role requires regular time on the production floor, flexibility to support second shift as needed, and the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while driving engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:Serve as the primary on-site HR leader for plant and warehouse employees across multiple shiftsMaintain a strong floor presence to address employee concerns, support engagement, and reinforce cultureManage employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminationsLead full-cycle recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training for hourly and salaried employeesAdminister bi-weekly payroll and maintain accurate, confidential payroll recordsOversee employee benefits, workers’ compensation, and coordination with third-party providersEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and food safety standards (FSSC 22000)Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures in alignment with company and group guidelinesSupport safety initiatives, including tracking required training, documentation, and monthly safety programsPartner with leadership on performance management, including annual performance reviewsPlan and execute employee engagement and morale initiatives tied to company valuesConduct exit interviews, analyze trends, and provide recommendations for improvementManage HR systems (Paycom, training platforms) and maintain accurate employee recordsPrepare and manage the annual HR department budgetWork independently while collaborating closely with leadership and department managers Required Skills & Qualifications:5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in a manufacturing, plant, or warehouse environmentHands-on experience managing employee relations, including investigations, discipline, and terminationsStrong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practicesExperience administering payroll and employee benefits (minimum 5 years)Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, production-focused environmentStrong conflict resolution skills and confidence handling difficult employee situationsProven ability to build trust with hourly employees through visible, floor-level engagementExperience supporting or partnering with workplace safety initiatives and training complianceProficiency with HRIS platforms (Paycom preferred) and Microsoft OfficeExcellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and documentationEffective written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organizationHigh level of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical judgmentFlexibility to support multiple shifts, including evenings as neededPreferred Qualifications:Bilingual Spanish proficiencyBackground in food manufacturing or regulated production environments
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field requiredHR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred
