GovCIO is currently hiring an HR Intern for the Summer of 2026 to support GovCIO’s HR Team. GovCIO’s internship program is designed to provide on-the-job training and experience for college students in various fields. Our HR intern will have the opportunity to work on a variety of assignments, including Talent Management, Recruiting, Onboarding, and Employee Relations assignments. This is a hybrid position, primarily remote with occasional on-site work in Fairfax, VA throughout the internship.
ResponsibilitiesOur HR intern will have a rotation schedule between various teams within HR, including Employee Relations, Onboarding, Recruiting, and Talent where they will:
Develop a working knowledge of the department structure and processes. Attend department and corporate meetings as assigned. Collaborate with teams across the Human Resources function as well as opportunities to collaborate cross-functionally throughout the business. Support current business processes and assist with implementation of new business processes. Assist in a variety of HR related projects throughout the rotation QualificationsRequired Skills and Experience
Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher Able to work up to 20 hours/week Monday - Friday from 06/01/2026 – 07/24/2026 Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills Organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Attention to detail and accuracy with a commitment to excellence Demonstrate analytical and critical thinking skillsAbility to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. Ability to interact and work with individuals from various backgrounds at all levels of the organizationPreferred Skills and Experience

Posted Pay Range
The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
