A Human Resources Generalist is responsible for managing various HR functions within an organization. They handle employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, training and development, policy implementation, and HR compliance. They serve as a point of contact for employees and provide support to both management and staff in all HR-related matters.
Essential Responsibilities
General Human Resources
Works with senior management to develop HR solutions to broad issues.Consults with front line managers and employees on variety of complex issues/problems impacting business.Proactively recommends practice changes and new innovative approaches to address management objectives.Works closely with front-line leaders to take shared responsibility for the effective implementation and communication of business initiatives (e.g., business climate setting, succession planning, performance management, reward systems, and talent management) in order to facilitate accomplishment of organizational objectives.Helps supervisors and managers become more effective and independent managers and leaders of people.Ensures integrity of company values, policies and procedures.Aids in Policy design and revision.Interprets labor law and determines impact on human resources policies and procedures.Consults with legal representatives as needed.Employee Relations
Communicates company and government rules, regulations and procedures to associates and the need for compliance.Gauges employee morale and recommends policies, procedures and activities for improvement.Talent Management
Understands the staffing and recruiting needs of the organization.Supports the development of staffing plans and recruiting strategies.Leads initiatives to protect retention of valued employees.Coaches managers on the hiring and retention challenges as needed.Acts as liaison with employment agencies.Training & Development
Understands and helps identify the developmental needs of the organization. Provides support in the design and implementation of development plans.Develops annual training plan in accordance with ISO requirements and compliance tracking when applicable.Rewards Systems
Supports managers in the use of compensation programs, rewards systems and performance management.Consults with managers on the establishment of clear performance objectives and the appropriate use of the compensation program.Assists managers with the performance management program.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree with 6 years of HR experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.Developed expertise in more than one people systems, i.e., staffing, compensation and performance management is essential, as well as demonstrated knowledge of the principles, theories and concepts of Human Resources.Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with an HRIS; Oracle preferred, but not required.Experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment, preferred.Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR certification) preferred.Skill, Abilities & Other Requirements
Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.Demonstrated experience successfully managing projects is desired.Proactive, confident, high energy and an HR subject matter expert with proven ability to influence others.Personal integrity and credibility is a must.Knowledge of HR systems, policies and practices is essential.Advanced proficiency with computer skills using MS Office.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and problem solving skills.Ability to take leadership and drive continuous improvement.Ability to partner with all levels of the organization.Must be able to multi-task and have good organizational skills.Must be able to work in a fast paced, demanding environment.Working & Environmental Conditions
Working Conditions
· Temperature controlled working environment. Some outside activities may be required.
· This position is expected to travel approximately 5-10% and must be able to travel with short notice and/or for extended periods of time.
