Human Resources Generalist
Job DescriptionPosition Summary

The HR & Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing employee safety programs, human resources processes, and supporting compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations. This role partners closely with leadership to ensure a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesSafety ManagementManage all aspects of the employee safety program, including data collection, reporting, and scheduling safety meetings and Toolbox Talks.Document incidents and prepare First Report of Injury forms. Work proactively to reduce workplace incidents and track near‑miss events.Maintain and regularly review written Safety Programs and required trainings to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company procedures.Advise leadership on safety issues related to projects and operations.Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and workplace practices; develop and recommend corrective actions.Human Resources AdministrationManage employee time‑off requests, review timecards for accuracy, and maintain personnel records.Partner with the Vice President and Plant Manager on personnel matters, including performance improvement plans.Audit personnel policies and procedures for accuracy and functionality; train employees on correct policies based on their job responsibilities.Coordinate HR‑related paperwork for new hires, terminations, status changes, and employee information updates; communicate updates to the third‑party HR partner.Oversee recruitment efforts in partnership with the outsourced HR/Recruitment provider, including interview scheduling and candidate communication.Communicate hiring decisions and coordinate onboarding processes with internal stakeholders and external partners.Maintain accurate employee data in the payroll platform, including job changes, transfers, and salary updates.Process FMLA, disability claims, and workers’ compensation claims; maintain OSHA 300 logs.Required SkillsHuman ResourcesEnvironmental Health & Safety (EHS)Recruiting & Talent AcquisitionEmployee RelationsOnboardingQualifications2–3 years of HR and Safety Management experience.1+ year of experience in talent sourcing and recruiting.SHRM-CP or other HR certification preferred.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.Strong judgment, adaptability, and problem‑solving skills in dynamic environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Dorado, KS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
