Human Resources Generalist
**Human Resources Generalist** **Summary:** The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, safety, and retention initiatives. This role supports efforts to reduce turnover, attract and retain top talent, and foster a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service to employees and management while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times. This position also supports compliance with food safety and quality standards to ensure a safe and high-quality product. **Key Responsibilities:** + Administer HR programs including compensation, benefits, payroll, leaves, performance management, and recognition. + Support recruitment efforts by posting jobs, sourcing and screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and managing candidate communication. + Partner with managers to identify required skills and competencies for open positions. + Conduct new hire onboarding and manage the employee referral incentive program. + Handle employee relations matters, assist with investigations, and participate in disciplinary meetings and terminations when needed. + Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. + Assist with benefit administration and employee engagement initiatives such as appreciation events, service awards, and recognition programs. + Maintain HR records and HRIS data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. + Conduct exit interviews, prepare reports, and support continuous improvement in retention and engagement. + Support facility safety programs and collaborate with EHS on workers’ compensation claims. + Participate in quality and safety programs to help ensure compliance with all company and regulatory standards. **Qualifications:** **Education:** + High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred. **Experience:** + 2–5 years of HR generalist or HR support experience in a manufacturing or multi-shift environment. **Skills & Competencies:** + Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. + Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems. + Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. + Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. + Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. + SHRM-CP or PHR certification a plus. **Work Environment & Physical Requirements:** This position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, reaching, bending, and climbing stairs. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and maintain awareness of color-coded safety or quality systems.
