Job Title: Human Resources Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to develop and manage HR policies and strategies, including employee retention programs, trainings, employee appreciation, DE&I programs, onboarding & offboarding SOPs, and ER procedures. This role is designed to enable our team to operate efficiently while laying the foundation for continued company growth.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions, ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting are compliant.Administer recruitment and hiring processes to fill vacant positions, and onboard newcomers.Plan and conduct new employee onboarding to foster a welcoming experience, including new hire orientations and HRIS/payroll system setup.Provide necessary support systems for payroll requirements using Paylocity.Create and organize activities that promote team building.Develop documentation and procedures for all HR functions, including employee statistics for government reporting and audits.Support managers in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review processes, and other short-term projects as requested.Administer a salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.Advise management in the appropriate resolution of employee relations issues in consultation with Xenium HRBP and leadership.Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR-related policies, procedures, and programs, as well as building maintenance issues.Coordinate Payroll, Benefit Administration, 401k, Worker comp, CNA Insurance with Paylocity/Brow&Brown/Principle; Administer 401(k) plan and answer basic questions regarding employee benefits programs such as Moda health, dental, PTO, sick leave, and leave of absence of any type.Investigate accidents and prepare documentation and reports for insurance carrier.Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation, process employee terminations, and conduct exit interviews.Create and maintain employee files, tracking destruction dates for terminated employees.Maintain punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.Act as the first contact for scheduling maintenance and service/repair work on equipment or the building.Work collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation and high professionalism.Display excellent communication skills, including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.Essential SkillsHuman resources management and generalist skillsOnboarding and offboarding experienceEmployee relations and HR compliance expertiseAdministrative support proficiencyMicrosoft Office proficiencyAbility to roll out and maintain new HR policies and proceduresExcellent communication skillsAbility to build rapport and trust with diverse groups of peopleAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, or two to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) preferred, or the ability and interest to obtain certification while in this role.Notary certification preferred.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical skills including the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.Proficiency in various computer applications, including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, email communication, and scheduling software.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $35.00/hr.
