Job Overview

Brings value to Japan by working with client groups to understand country needs. Must be a credible partner skilled at communicating to various levels of the organization. May also be responsible for the people activities in compliance with local labor legislation.

Responsibilities / Duties

Provides HR support across multiple sites for M&E functions in JapanResponsible to manage union related activities and LR/ER issue in the countryPartners with leaders to deliver people priorities aligned to function people strategyAdvise People leader to ensure people agenda is aligned with employee and local labor relationsApplies and advises on relevant local law and regulations related to employee and labor relations.May also fulfill local Labor compliance work that is not be delivered from centralized HR Services teamProvides feedback to HR Services regarding local implementation employee/labor relationship issuesResolves complex problems by applying in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of HR partner processes and has at least intermediate knowledge of all other HR disciplinesLeads projects and/or steps of projects with manageable risks and resource requirementsUnderstands best practices and how HR processes relates to othersMay lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirementsServes as resource for less experienced colleaguesExplains difficult or sensitive information and handles sensitive people issuesWorks to build consensusAnalyzes and resolves complex problemsExamines information from multiple sources and uses judgement to evaluate established and new solutionsPerformance impacts a range of clients, projects, or activities within own team and other related teamsCollaborates with multiple HR colleagues in and outside of Japan

Qualifications:

8+ years’ Experience working at management level within HR ideally in an HR business partner roleStrong customer focus and employee experience mindsetBusiness and financial acumenStrong relationship, partnership and consultancy skillsComfortable pushing difficult perspectives, challenging and influencingDeep understanding of the organization climate and interventions that create great employee experienceHave knowledge in Japan Employment RegulationExcellent written and verbal skills
