How will you make an impact in this role?

The HR Business Partner Manager for Benelux is a senior leadership role and a member of the Benelux Executive Committee (CET). The role is accountable for shaping and delivering the colleague agenda across the market, ensuring that American Express values, leadership behaviors, and culture are consistently embedded and experienced.
As a strategic partner to senior leaders, the HRBP Manager translates business priorities into effective people strategies, balancing local market needs with global frameworks and policies.


Key Responsibilities

Lead the Benelux colleague agenda end-to-end, ensuring alignment with business priorities, Colleague Survey (CES) insights, and global HR strategy.Design, deliver, and continuously evolve the Market Colleague Plan in close partnership with local and international OneCEG teams and Centers of Excellence (COEs).Own the market talent agenda, including succession planning, future capability needs, and leadership development, with a strong focus on Risk and Conduct culture.Drive engagement initiatives across the colleague population, ensuring consistency, quality, and measurable impact across all business units.Act as a trusted advisor to Business Leaders, providing coaching and guidance across the colleague lifecycle to support performance and sustainable growth.Partner closely and conduct change management plan with Global COEs and local Colleague & Labor Relations (CLR) teams to ensure effective implementation of global initiatives while addressing local requirements.Shape and deliver colleague communication strategies, including leadership and people manager communities, to strengthen alignment and engagement.Support and enhance the American Express employment brand in the Benelux market, working with internal and external partners.Lead and develop a team of two direct reports, providing clear direction, enabling autonomy, and ensuring delivery against strategic priorities.

Minimum Qualifications

Solid experience in an HR Business Partner, HR Generalist, HR Specialist, or Engagement-focused role, with a broad understanding of HR practices.Proven experience leading change, transformation, and engagement initiatives in complex or evolving environments.Strong capability to operate in a matrixed, international organization, building partnerships and delivering outcomes through influence.Demonstrated business acumen, with experience advising senior leaders and translating business strategy into practical people solutions.Ability to manage multiple priorities, balancing strategic focus with operational execution.Strong analytical mindset, using data and insights to inform decisions and drive evidence-based solutions.Excellent project management skills, with experience delivering large-scale initiatives end-to-end.Inclusive and collaborative leadership style, with the ability to develop and engage others.Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience managing Employee and Labor Relations topics.Exposure to innovative HR practices, including the use of data, digital tools, or emerging technologies to improve decision-making and colleague experience.
