HR Business Partner - Float

Overview

The Human Resources Business Partner – Float (HRBP Float) is a highly adaptable HR professional who provides flexible, hands-on support across MyPath Companies during periods of growth, transition, or vacancy. This role partners with operational leaders and the HR team to ensure consistent, compliant, and people-focused HR practices across the organization.

The HRBP Float supports a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, compliance, leaves administration, investigations, HR programs, and project work, stepping in where support is most needed.

Responsibilities Include:

Serve as an HR partner to operational leaders by providing guidance on employee relations, performance management, policy interpretation, and workforce planning, as assigned.

Support and facilitate Owner Relations conversations, investigations, and appeals in collaboration with HR leadership.

Proactively identify HR-related risks or concerns and recommend solutions aligned with company policies and employment laws.

Administer and support FMLA, MLOA, and ADA processes, including employee communication and leader coordination.

Assist with injury follow-up, root cause analysis, unemployment processing, and benefits-related inquiries (including COBRA and required notices). Work with Operation company HR and Leaders to implement the identified resolutions.

Ensure compliance through consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and employment regulations.

Provide back-up HRBP coverage during vacancies, leaves, or periods of organizational growth and needs.

Draft and update HR policies, procedures, communications, and micro-learnings to improve understanding and compliance.

Support HR initiatives such as HCM audits, data clean-up, location start-ups, and cross-functional projects.

Build strong working relationships with leaders and frontline supervisors across multiple locations.

Travel to MyPath offices and sites as needed to provide on-site HR support and partnership.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.

3–5 years of progressive HR experience; experience in human services, healthcare, or a multi-site environment strongly preferred.

Strong working knowledge of employee relations, employment law, and HR best practices.

Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel up to 25% based on business needs, primarily day travel with occasional overnight stays.

Preferred

Professional HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar).

Experience supporting decentralized or rapidly growing organizations.

Skills & Competencies

Strong judgment and decision-making skills with the ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations.

Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solutions-focused in fast-paced, changing environments.

Highly collaborative with the ability to work independently when needed.

Work Environment

Fast-paced, multi-site environment including office, residential, and school-based settings.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.

Occasional physical activity consists of office and on-site support work.
