The Opportunity:

 

The HR Business Partner, Corporate is a strategic partner to the business and is a trusted advisor and coach to People Leaders in our HRBP 5 Core Practice Areas (Talent Review & Succession Planning, Engagement & Culture, Human Capital Management, Performance Management and Employee Relations.) The HR Business Partner, Corporate partners with HR COEs such as talent acquisition, employee experience, organizational development, total rewards and legal to execute on HR and business strategies and ensure alignment.


This is a hybrid role with flexible onsite expectations, typically 1 to 2 days per week. New employees are expected to be onsite 2 to 3 times a week during their first three months to support onboarding and collaboration. #LI-Hybrid

 

About The Role:

Deliver exceptional Business Impact in the HRBP 5 Core Practice Areas (Talent Review & Succession Planning, Engagement & Culture, Human Capital Management, Performance Management and Employee Relations Build a strong business partnership with the assigned client groups and strategize and collaborate with the business leaders and HR COEs to design, implement and monitor HR solutions.  Through your HRBP practice, identify and issue spot critical business needs and emerging strategic requirements. Leverage analytics and derive insights to assess HR risk elements to drive development and implementation of HR solutions.   Execute in collaboration with the Business and the HR COEs, the various Annual Talent and HR Programs, including, but not limited to talent review and succession planning activities, year-end performance management, year-end compensation planning, and annual surveys. Coach, guide and advise People Leaders on employee relations issues, strategic issues, and other HR related topics that are sensitive and confidential in nature.   Provide education, training, and development support for leaders and employees. Partner with leaders in assigned client group to issue spot, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend alternative solutions.  Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations in compliance with corporate policy and procedures, legislation and in partnership with the relevant business leader, legal and HR support.  Partner with leaders on employee terminations, including meeting with leaders to review performance or restructuring plans to ensure equity, legal compliance and minimize risk. Review files with Senior Manager, HRBP, HRLT and legal. Work with internal counsel to resolve legal claims including participation in mediation. Partner and guide leaders to ensure compliance with policy and legislative requirements. Make data driven recommendations based on insights derived from HR analytics and metrics to client groups

 

 

What You Need to Succeed:

 

Education:

Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Employee Relations or combination of relevant education and work experience Canadian or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP/CHRL) certification is an asset. 

 

Experience:

10+ years of experience in Human Resources Experience working as an HR Business Partner/Advisor to a Corporate and Technology team

 

Skill requirements

Technical knowledge of several human resources activities including  Talent Review & Succession Planning, Engagement & Culture, Human Capital Management, Performance Management and Employee Relations Knowledge of HR trends and best practices. Ability to convey recommendations for implementations. Extensive experience in business partnering, change management and coaching  Broad experience in the analysis of issues/problems/objectives and developing solutions to complex problems.  Well-honed and proven abilities to influence stakeholders and build consensus Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to conduct courageous conversations with People Leaders and colleagues Ability to facilitate meetings and group sessions including talent reviews, calibration, targeted training and focus group sessions. Must be tech-savvy with advanced skills in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Copilot) and a strong aptitude for learning and using digital tools including Gen AI. Be curious about technology and its advancement of the workplace Knowledge of the organization/market segments/issues that may affect the management of a large, diversified workforce Strong knowledge of the Canada Labour Code
