Job Title: HR and Accounting Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated HR and Accounting Assistant to support the daily operations of both the Accounting and Human Resources departments. The ideal candidate will assist with a variety of tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of financial and HR-related activities.

Responsibilities

Assist with daily accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable.Enter invoices, payments, and journal entries accurately and efficiently.Maintain and update financial records and accounting data.Support the preparation and processing of expense reports.Assist with credit card reconciliations.Generate basic financial reports for internal review.Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting files.Respond to routine billing and payment inquiries from vendors and internal staff.Support month-end closing activities by preparing supporting documentation.Assist with payroll processing and related recordkeeping as needed.Ensure compliance with company accounting procedures and internal controls.Perform general administrative and accounting support duties as assigned.Maintain confidentiality of company financial and employee information.Support operations managers with approving and submitting employee timecards for payroll processing.Assist with planning and scheduling HR-related programs such as new employee onboarding and open enrollment for employee benefits.Upload required documentation and assist in maintaining employee personnel records.Perform other filing and record-keeping tasks.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.Experience with payroll review and processing.Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Teams, PowerPoint).Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Courteous and friendly communication skills.Ability to multitask and handle multiple tasks concurrently.Commitment to exercising safe work habits.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High School diploma or GED required.Associate degree in accounting, business, human resources, or related field preferred.2 years’ experience in a corporate office support role is a plus.Experience with HR areas such as employee benefits, talent acquisition, and onboarding preferred.Ability to grow into HR roles related to benefits and payroll.Must have reliable transportation for daily commute.Ability to lift, carry, move, and transport objects up to 40 lbs.

Work Environment

The position is office-based from Monday to Friday with a flexible 8-hour schedule between 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, totaling 40 hours per week with possible overtime. The work environment is dynamic, supporting a team of community-oriented professionals dedicated to making the world safer and healthier through various services.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jefferson Hills, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $21.50/hr.
