As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments Technology group, you will play a crucial role as part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problemsDevelops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersIdentifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systemsLeads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architectureLeads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologiesAdds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience with HP NonStop hardware and software platforms (Guardian/TACL, OSS)
5+ years of robust programming experienceExtensive hands-on expertise in developing and maintaining applications using COBOL/SCOBOL, DDL, Enform, TAL procedure callsDeep knowledge of HPNS platform architecture, including database technologies such as Enscribe, SQL/MP, SQL/MX, SQLCI, and MXCIProficiency in requestor/server communication via Pathway and experience with NonStop utilities (FUP, KLIST, SCUP, TACL, TMF, RDF)Skilled in code debugger tools (Inspect, Visual Inspect, eInspect)Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying AI-driven solutions into HPNS enterprise applications.Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security, as applied to HPNS environments.Demonstrated expertise in the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of large-scale, high-throughput, mission-critical payments applications on HPNS. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skillsExperience leveraging AI for process automation, software development lifecycle (SDLC), or enhancing application functionality within HPNS platforms is highly preferred.Strong understanding of architecture and design across all systems, with awareness of industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
