Housekeeping Manager
**Description:** **About the Role** We are seeking an accomplished, detail-driven, and people-focused Housekeeping Manager to lead our property's housekeeping operations. This role is central to delivering exceptional guest experiences by ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, hygiene, and comfort across guest rooms and public areas. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader with strong organizational skills, a passion for quality, and the ability to inspire large teams while maintaining uncompromising standards aligned with international luxury hospitality brands. Experience within Hyatt Hotels Corporation or a comparable global luxury hotel brand will be a strong advantage. **The Ideal Candidate Profile** The candidate for this role will demonstrate the following: + Proven experience of not less than 2 years as a Housekeeping Manager, preferably within five-star or luxury hotels. + Deep understanding of luxury housekeeping standards, room presentation, guest expectations, and brand compliance requirements. + A strong eye for detail with the ability to consistently deliver immaculate guest rooms and public areas. + Excellent leadership and people-management skills, capable of motivating, coaching, and developing large, diverse teams. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with Engineering, Front Office, Laundry, and other operational departments. + Ability to balance operational efficiency, cost control, and guest satisfaction without compromising quality. + High standards of professionalism, grooming, and service orientation, serving as a role model for the team. + Experience working with brand audits, quality inspections, and SOP compliance in an international hotel environment. + Exposure to Hyatt standards and systems is a strong plus. **Key Responsibilities** **Operations & Quality Assurance** + Lead and manage all housekeeping operations, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and laundry services. + Ensure all areas consistently meet or exceed luxury brand standards, cleanliness benchmarks, and hygiene requirements. + Conduct daily inspections, room spot checks, and quality audits, taking immediate corrective action where required. **Guest Experience** + Ensure guest rooms are prepared to the highest standard, on time, and in line with guest preferences and brand promises. + Respond promptly and professionally to guest feedback, concerns, and special requests. + Partner closely with Front Office to optimize room readiness, turnaround times, and occupancy demands. **Leadership & Team Development** + Recruit, train, schedule, and manage the housekeeping team to ensure optimal coverage and productivity. + Foster a culture of accountability, pride, and attention to detail. + Identify training needs and drive ongoing skills development aligned with brand standards. **Financial & Resource Management** + Manage departmental budgets, staffing levels, and productivity ratios. + Control costs related to linen, amenities, chemicals, and supplies while maintaining luxury standards. + Oversee inventory management, par levels, and vendor coordination. **Compliance & Safety** + Ensure full compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards. + Enforce safe work practices and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. + Support internal audits, brand compliance reviews, and sustainability initiatives. **Collaboration & Reporting** + Work closely with Engineering on preventive maintenance, room defects, and asset preservation. + Prepare reports on productivity, room status, quality scores, and guest feedback for senior leadership. **Qualifications:** **Qualifications & Experience** + Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Housekeeping Manager in a luxury or five-star hotel environment. + Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred. + Strong knowledge of housekeeping systems, cleaning technologies, and operational best practices. + Experience within an international hotel brand environment required. + Hyatt Hotels Corporation experience is a strong advantage. **Personal Attributes** + Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. + Calm, confident, and decisive under pressure. + Guest-focused with a strong service mindset. + Professional, ethical, and approachable. + Passionate about cleanliness, quality, and team excellence. **Primary Location:** Kenya-Nairobi **Organization:** Hyatt Regency Nairobi **Job Level:** Full-time **Job:** Housekeeping/Laundry **Req ID:** NAI000326 Hyatt is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer.
