Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our housekeeping team at our luxury resort. The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, comfort, and presentation in guest rooms and suites, ensuring every guest enjoys a pristine and welcoming environment. This role plays a vital part in delivering exceptional guest experiences through meticulous attention to detail and efficient work practices.
Key Responsibilities
Thoroughly clean and sanitize assigned guest rooms and suites daily, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.Make beds to hotel standards, change and replace bed linens, duvets, and pillows as needed.Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including scrubbing toilets, sinks, showers, bathtubs, mirrors, and replenishing amenities.Remove and replace used towels, bathmats, and toiletries; restock guest supplies (soap, shampoo, tissue, etc.).Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, windowsills, and all surfaces.Empty trash bins, replace liners, and dispose of waste properly.Report any maintenance issues, damages, or lost-and-found items immediately to the supervisor.Respond promptly to guest requests for additional items or services with a courteous and professional attitude.Maintain housekeeping carts, closets, and storage areas in a neat and organized manner.Follow all health, safety, and hygiene protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment.Adhere to resort sustainability initiatives, such as linen reuse programs and energy conservation.Occasionally assist with deep cleaning projects, turndown service, or public area touch-ups as directed.What are we looking for?
Qualifications and Requirements
1-2 Years Experience in HousekeepingPrevious experience as a Housekeeper or Room Attendant in a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality setting is strongly preferred (training provided for enthusiastic candidates with related cleaning experience).Strong attention to detail and commitment to achieving high cleanliness standards.Physical ability to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods; lift up to 30 lbs; push/pull heavy housekeeping carts; and perform repetitive tasks.Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Excellent time management skills to clean a required number of rooms within allotted timeframes.Positive attitude, reliability, and punctuality; must be available for flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.Good communication skills and a guest-focused mindset.Basic English proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking).High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be legally eligible to work in the Cayman Islands (preference given to Caymanians and Permanent Residents).Hourly rate is $6.42 per hour, plus a share of the gratuities pool
The above position requires always working a flexible schedule of day and/or evening shifts including weekends and public holidays and on call. The applicant must meet the minimum requirements and must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language “English” used in the workplace.
