GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Providing a comfortable and clean living environment is critical for providing quality care for the Wyoming Retirement Center residents. The person in this position must have customer service as their top priority.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function that may be performed at the job level.
Duties May Include The Following For Housekeeping:
+ Cleans the bathrooms and takes out the garbage.
+ Cleans and sanitizes floors, walls, windows, and furniture.
+ Determines appropriate chemical solutions for cleaning and disinfection.
+ Changes linens on client beds.
+ Uses universal precaution processes in the cleaning and disposal of bio-hazard waste.
+ Identifies areas that need repair and notifies the proper person.
+ Stock supplies and chemicals for the unit.
+ Assists in the laundry with the washing, drying, and redistributing of the residents' clothes as needed.
Duties May Include The Following For Laundry:
+ Sorts and weighs laundry.
+ Loads and unloads washers and dryers.
+ Inspects wash at various stages of processing for cleanliness; recommends changes in washing and rinsing procedures.
+ Folds clothing.
+ Delivers clothing and linens as needed.
+ Assists with housekeeping with cleaning duties.
Qualifications
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to those with previous housekeeping experience.
KNOWLEDGE:
+ Knowledge of cleaning methods and practices.
+ Knowledge of cleansers, supplies, and equipment.
+ Knowledge of state and facility policies and procedures.
+ Knowledge of universal precautions.
+ Knowledge of and ability to operate motorized cleaning and laundry equipment.
+ Ability to work at a consistent pace.
+ Ability to communicate with and exhibit patience with elderly and disabled residents in cleaning their personal space.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma
Experience:
0-6 months of progressive work experience (typically in Housekeeping)
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
1-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Housekeeping)
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None
Necessary Special Requirements
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
+ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
+ Ability to stand, walk, and work on concrete floors 8 hours/day.
+ Ability to move in a side-to-side motion to sweep and mop floors.
