**Job Title: Housekeeper - 1st Shift** **Job Description** We are looking for a dedicated Housekeeper to join our team on the 1st shift. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining clean and aseptic conditions within the labor and delivery areas, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for patients and staff. **Responsibilities** + Maintain cleanliness by vacuuming, dust mopping, high dusting, making beds, and removing trash and linen. + Perform daily spot cleaning in occupied rooms, including dust mopping, trash removal, bathroom cleaning, and sanitizing high touch areas. + Conduct deep cleaning in rooms post-discharge, which includes thorough cleaning of floors, walls, bathrooms, and furniture. + Engage with patients and nurses, occasionally handling challenging interactions with patients. + Use cleaning agents and equipment effectively, adhering to recommended handling and mixing procedures. + Keep work stations, carts, closets, and equipment clean and organized. + Report any equipment repairs needed to the Supervisor. + Log activities throughout the work shift as required and complete paperwork at the end of the shift. + Collect soiled linen and distribute clean linen. **Essential Skills** + Experience in housekeeping, cleaning, and environmental services. + Ability to interact professionally with hospital staff and patients. + Proficiency in using cleaning equipment such as mops, vacuums, and supply carts. + Strong customer service skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks. + Capacity to push/pull 65 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs. + Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending English. + Comfortable working in a hospital environment with exposure to various conditions. **Why Work Here?** Join a diverse and inclusive team where you will be valued and supported. You will be working within a team of 40 individuals, alongside three supervisors, and will need to be comfortable with potential hazards such as chemicals and slippery floors. The work environment is diverse, with exposure to different cultures and backgrounds. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, Iowa. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.
