Job Purpose: Ensures hotel rooms are in good repair Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Note: Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at the sole discretion of Sycuan Management at any time) + Ensures hotel guest rooms are in good repair by routinely inspecting hotel rooms, repairing or replacing broken or defective plumbing parts and fixtures, inspecting wall paper and paint, correcting wall paper tears, preparing and painting surfaces, verifying that the air conditioner and heater are in good working order, and performing preventative maintenance as needed. - 70% + Maintains safe and sanitary work and storage areas by setting-up ladders securely, cleaning tools and equipment after use, and storing materials according to established procedure and regulatory requirements. - 30% Job Specifications: Education and Experience: Essential: + 2 years of vocational training in plumbing and painting or equivalent experience Desirable: + Certificate of related vocational training + Hotel maintenance experience + CA Drivers License in good standing Skills and Knowledge: Essential: + Working knowledge of painting techniques including faux artistry + Ability to identify and mix paints + Ability to use painting tools and equipment + Ability to work from blueprints and schematics and/or verbal and written instructions + Working knowledge of pipe threading machines, copper soldering, pipe and PVC installation + Ability to reach, crouch, bend, and kneel + Ability to document assignments in a shop log or through a work order system + Ability to work from ladders + Ability to lift up to 80 lbs + Ability to work in a smoking environment + Ability to appear for work on time + Ability to perform mathematical calculations and measurements + Ability to interact effectively with guests and team members + Ability to maintain professionalism and composure + Ability to accept constructive criticism Desirable: + Multi-lingual Supervisory/Managerial Accountability: Direct: None Indirect: None If you enjoy being part of a community dedicated to creating a memorable guest experience, we invite you to explore career opportunities with Sycuan and join our winning team!
