We are seeking a Hospital Maintenance Technician III , also referred to as a Engineer III, Plant Operations Technician or Boiler Operator.  The Hospital Maintenance Tech III is responsible for advanced maintenance and repairs on hospital systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety equipment to ensure a safe and operational healthcare environment. This role also supports emergency response, preventive maintenance, and facility projects while coordinating with staff and contractors to minimize disruption to patient care.

 

Shift’s Available:  Days 

Employment Type: Full Time

Hours: 8-hour shifts – 7:00am to 3:30pm

Location: Southern Regional Medical Center - Riverdale, GA

** If you are a Boiler Operator with high pressure steam license and/or 1st Class Stationary Engineer license you are encouraged to apply!

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, medical gas, and other systemsQuickly respond to emergency repair requests, such as system malfunctions or equipment breakdowns, to restore hospital operations without compromising patient careRegularly inspect and test critical hospital safety systems such as backup generators, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and life safety equipment to ensure they are functional and compliant with safety standardsPreventative Maintenance, during regular inspections and checks to prevent breakdowns, like lubricating motors, testing generators, or checking emergency lightingAssist with hospital renovation and construction projects; coordinate work with contractors as needed Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 

Valid state driver’s licenseHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAble to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blueprintsCertified and/or licensed in a specified trade that is relative to healthcare engineering (Steam boiler, HVAC, etc) 

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

Five (5) years experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred
