The Registered Nurse (RN), Wound, Ostomy, Continence Services, functions to provide support to Home Health Field Clinicians. Under the supervision and direction of the physician, the RN assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care in accordance with current established Standards of Care, The Nurse Practice Act and The St. Mary Medical Center Policies and Procedures. She/he demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient population served. Attends basic wound assessment class or receives wound education as warranted. These endeavors are conducted within established objectives, procedures, and philosophical framework of the Department of Patient Care Services and The St. Mary Medical Center. They are directed toward the achievement of excellence in patient care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing Current professional Licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau Successful completion of St. Mary Medical Center’s Personnel and Nursing Orientation Programs Obtains and maintains current CPR Certification Completed Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Program
