Job Title: Home Care Regulatory Affairs Manager , Unilever Professional Function R&D Reporting to Regulatory Lead, Global UPro Scope Global Location: Port Sunlight Work-Level: 2A JOB PURPOSE Acts as regulatory first point of contact for the HC Unilever Professional ( UPro ) organization. Leads the regulatory strategy, organisation and guidance for HC Unilever Professional ( UPro ) innovation , advocacy , and compliance programme s together with any relevant new technology programmes. RESPONSIBILITIES + Ensures the regulatory input to the H C Unilever Professional innovation projects + Deliver day-to-day strategic regulatory guidance , assessments, and operational inputs to the UPro innovation pro jects and future technologies on time in full at a global level plus for the key countries in which the products are to be marketed. + I s an expert on worldwide regulations governing Home Care products in general plus global regulatory developments which impact professional Home Care products, and through strong strategic influencing skills, ensures that these developments ar e incorporated into the H C Unilever Professional innovation programme . + Together with Unilever Regulatory colleagues, d efine s and oversee s the build ing and maintenance of the global HC Unilever Professional product dossier s . + Create s & maintain s the relevant global HC professional r egulatory a ffairs network + M onitor regulatory activities and challenges in markets . + P repare global regulatory summari es for specific product areas . + M aintain information - sharing system s to ensure access and alignment on regulatory topics a cross the category and in the regulatory affairs capability . + Provide expertise to support local teams to respond effectively and with speed to Regulatory Authority questions on product registrations . + M anages r egulatory a ffairs for H C Unilever Professional : + Deliver global regulatory updates on legislation affecting the categor y and giving training as required . + Deliver global co-ordination of the U nilever position s in the face of new regulations or amendment s in regulations in local markets . + Be the global regulatory expert in the H C professional c laims , including to develop claims guidelines by work ing with scientific writers, Legal, CTI, GDC/S&T to build robust substantiation to enable the landing of claims in local markets . + P rovid e regulatory input to the manageme nt of globally relevant issues and opportunities . + Be an issue leader of topics related to HC professional and a nticipat e regulatory challenges for the future , which may drive the external influenc ing agenda for the categor y . + E xecut e regulatory risk asses s ments and participat ing in stress tests. + P rovid e regulatory input in case of mergers and acquisitions . + Manages and/or supports HC Unilever Professional advocacy topics : + Ensure HC Professional needs are inputted into the wider Home Care advocacy plan with assigned key topics . + Be a R egulatory leader for specific key topics by ensuring objective setting , delivery of plans, managing communications cross-functionally, stakeholder management etc. + Represent Unilever externally for specific advocacy topics if required . + Monitor the external and internal environment to identify threats/opportunities and communicates with impact to stakeholders. + Develops and maintains excellent interfaces with internal and external relevant partners + R epresent s RA in other UL functions ( SERS , E xternal A ffairs , L egal , R&D Professional ) on relevant topic (s) . + H a s direct contact/represent UL in external bodies e.g. Trade associations , scientific bodies, key opinion formers . ALL ABOUT YOU Key interfaces Category R&D and Brand Development teams delivering H C Unilever Professional innovations, Regulatory Lead for Global UPro , Head of Home Care Regulatory Affairs and full Home Care Regulatory Affairs te a m , Global R egulatory A ffairs leadership team, External Affairs, Corporate Communications, Legal, Safety & Environmental Assurance Centre and external supply partners . Education : Minimum BS c , preferably an M.S. or PhD in Biological Science, Toxicology, Environmental Science or Chemistry or equivalent. Experience : Significant experience of the regulatory requirements that govern the Professional H ome Care in dustry, preferably globally, and preferably with experience in the product development area . Experience in obtaining any necessary product or active substance registrations in one or more regions. Ability to work with external consultants in different markets to deliver the regulatory strategies for the Unilever Professional business. A proven track record in supporting the development, research, and regulatory affairs functions and preferably experience of working in an external environment (such as trade associations, Regulatory Authorities, etc.) Extensive experience of successful stakeholder management, with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, together with extensive strategic influencing skills.
