Job Summary
As a Home Loan Underwriter IV in the Home Lending team, you serve as a key decision-maker, ensuring loan applications meet program and regulatory requirements. You collaborate with advisors and specialists to deliver seamless, high-quality service to our customers. You apply your expert knowledge to analyze complex financial documentation and propose solutions that help customers obtain or retain homeownership. Job Responsibilities

Review and analyze customer financial documentation to assess creditworthiness and repayment capacityApply comprehensive knowledge of mortgage underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirementsCollaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient and accurate loan processingEvaluate collateral and property condition to support sound lending decisionsIdentify and resolve documentation deficiencies, communicating findings clearlyMaintain up-to-date knowledge of credit policy changes and industry standardsDeliver exceptional customer service and foster positive relationships throughout the underwriting processUtilize specialized systems, tools, and calculators to enhance underwriting efficiencyCommunicate underwriting decisions and conditions effectively to relevant partiesPrioritize workflows to meet productivity, quality, and service level goalsMentor and support team members through second reviews and training opportunities

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, economics, or related fieldExtensive experience in U.S. residential mortgage processing or underwritingDemonstrated expertise in income calculation, credit assessment, and asset analysisThorough understanding of Federal and State regulatory requirementsProficiency in mortgage underwriting software and automated underwriting systems (AUS)Strong analytical and decision-making skillsAbility to review and calculate complex personal or business financial statementsExcellent written and verbal communication skills; CSA / Voice CertifiedCommitment to customer service excellenceAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionWillingness to work night shifts (U.S. hours) and adapt to hybrid/in-office schedules

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

Comprehensive knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC guidelines and federal mortgage regulationsExperience underwriting Non-QM and Non-Agency loan productsProficiency in tax return, balance sheet, and cash flow analysisKnowledge of Mortgage Insurance policies and their applicationExperience with Conventional Agency and Non-Agency loan amountsAbility to identify potential fraud and establish appropriate loan resolutionsProven track record of mentoring and training team members
