We are seeking a skilled Histology Technician who can independently perform routine histology and special stains on human or animal tissues. The role supports product testing, device validation, method verification, and manufacturing science activities, particularly within medical device R&D and testing environments. The position involves tissue processing workflows, special staining, and routine histology operations.
Responsibilities
Receive, log, and track tissue samples according to internal documentation standards.Operate tissue processors for dehydration, clearing, and infiltration.Prepare cassettes, verify fixation, and maintain chain-of-custody.Embed processed tissues using embedding stations, ensuring consistent block orientation and labeling.Section paraffin blocks using rotary microtomes, float and mount sections with consistent quality and slide integrity.Perform H&E staining (manual or automated) and special stains relevant to device testing workflows.Operate automated stainers and cover-slippers.Complete documentation per ISO, GxP, and internal data integrity requirements (ALCOA+).Work Environment
The role requires working in a laboratory setting with exposure to chemicals. It involves standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 25 lbs. The position uses various equipment, including tissue processors, embedders, rotary microtomes, automated stainers, and cover-slippers.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $42.00/hr.
