About the Role

We’re seeking a skilled Histology Technician to join a high‑quality pathology laboratory supporting diagnostic and disease‑focused work, including oncology. In this role, you’ll prepare tissue samples and slides that directly support accurate diagnoses and patient care.

What You’ll DoPrepare tissue samples and slides for pathologist reviewPerform paraffin embedding of routine anatomical pathology specimens (non‑dermatology)Cut high‑quality sections, including levels, recuts, re‑embeds, and routine stainsPerform and evaluate routine H&E staining, including assessment of stain qualitySupport special stains such as Alcian Blue and PAS, using appropriate controlsMaintain and troubleshoot automated stainers and coverslippersRetrieve, organize, and track tissue blocks and slidesMaintain a clean, organized work area and follow all lab protocols and quality standardsAccurately document work in accordance with laboratory procedures and regulationsWhat We’re Looking For2–4 years of hands‑on histology experienceASCP HT certification preferredAssociate’s degree in biology or a related scientific field preferredStrong attention to detail and manual dexterityComfortable working independently on an overnight scheduleClear communication skills and basic computer proficiencyWhy This RoleStable overnight schedule with consistent hoursHands‑on, technical lab work with meaningful impactOpportunity to support cancer and disease‑focused diagnostic servicesProfessional, team‑oriented laboratory environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bakersfield, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $43.00/hr.
