Job Description:
In the role of a New Hire Utility, you will embark on a comprehensive learning journey to operate equipment associated with extrusion or tube mill processes while handling aluminum products.
Responsibilities:
Learn and perform 'press team' operations in the aluminum extrusion department.Ensure quality objectives are met, operate or assist operators in extrusion or casting equipment.Report and review any unusual conditions with lead operators or supervisors.Work collaboratively within a team to meet daily production goals.Adhere to Union environment terms related to shift movement and flexibility.Transition from a utility worker to a specific department upon permanent hire, with opportunities to bid on other departments.
Essential Skills:
General labor and production support experience.Knowledge of machine learning and manufacturing processes.1-2 years of experience in machine/assembly operations.Familiarity with production, material handling, and machine safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Mechanical aptitude and machine operating experience encouraged.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Willingness to learn forklift operation.Capability to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including weekends and up to 12-hour shifts.Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting weights over 15 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs with assistance.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.31 - $20.31/hr.
