The Building Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and operation of hospital facilities, systems, and equipment. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, supports patient care operations, and contributes to a clean, functional, and secure environment. **Responsibilities** + Perform routine and emergency maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. + Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and safety. + Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders from hospital departments. + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance. + Collaborate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and installations. + Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including Joint Commission standards. **Essential Skills** + Mechanical, Plumbing, Preventive maintenance, and Facilities maintenance. + Electrical, HVAC troubleshooting and Maintenance Technician skills. + Electrical Apprenticeship experience. + GED or HS Diploma. + Basic computer skills, such as proficiency in Office or Word. + 3.5+ years of experience in facility technician or construction field. + 1.5+ years of experience in maintenance with HVAC troubleshooting. + Experience with 277 voltage, air handling, and changing filters. + Ability to use hand tools, power tools, gauges, and electrical testing devices. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + EPA Certification. + Experience in direct hospital or large-scale hotel/building maintenance. + Knowledge of city of Austin Amendments to the code. + Degree from Trade School. **Why Work Here?** This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment where your skills and dedication to safety and maintenance will make a significant impact.
