Job Title: Fabricator

This is a direct hire/permanent, hourly position

2nd Shift: Monday-Friday 3:40pm to midnight with OT as required

Pay: $30.41/hr to start

Job Description

The Fabricator will be responsible for fitting, laying out, prepping, and assembling Nuclear Tanks, Missile Tanks, and Bases for military and nuclear equipment in a heavy manufacturing setting.

ResponsibilitiesLaying out and fitting parts per complex blueprints.Precision grinding metal parts to ensure they are within tolerance.Assembling metal pieces for welders.Building bases, cylinders, and tanks.Sandblasting parts to prep for painting.Performing industrial painting of parts.Running a stress furnace.Essential Skills2+ years of heavy metal fabrication experience.Experience in fitting and layout, shipbuilding, or boilermaking.Strong blueprint reading skills.Strong understanding of weld symbols.Strong mechanical aptitude.Proficiency in shop math.Ability to understand cuts, angles, and metal prep experience.Additional Skills & QualificationsIndustrial painting experience.Industrial sandblasting experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The manufacturing facility produces large holding tanks for nuclear waste and parts for NAVY submarines, requiring the handling of massive parts up to 138 tons using large overhead cranes. While the shop is not climate-controlled, it is well-maintained. The facility operates across three shifts, with this being a unionized environment requiring all positions to start on the second shift from Monday to Friday, 3:40 PM to midnight.

This is a Permanent position based out of York, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $63252.80 - $63252.80/yr.

Benefits: Medical/Vision coverage, effective 30 days of employment Dental/Life coverage, effective 90 days of employment Long-term Disability coverage, effective 1-year employment
Holidays: 11 holidays, and you will eligible for holiday after you are employed for 30 calendar days.
Paid Excused Absence: You will be eligible for 8 hours of paid excused absence after 90 days of employment. This amount will then increase to 16 hours at the beginning of the year following your start date. Then up to 24 hours the following year and ever year after that.
Pension: Administered by Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC)
