Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled road work and water/sewer utility installation operator. This role will require expert level skill in pipe laying, drainage, sewer, and water installation. Main line road work is a must have. Highway and bridge construction is a plus. This role will be prevailing wage and rates will depend on which municipality you are working in. A 2A1C is required.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy construction equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and rollers.Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, grading, and roadway preparation.Assist in utility installation including storm, sanitary, and water systems.Follow grade stakes, laser levels, and project plans to achieve required elevations and slopes.Work closely with pipe layers, laborers, foremen, and supervisors to safely and efficiently complete work.Load and unload materials including pipe, aggregate, and spoils.Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance issues.Maintain equipment in safe operating condition.Comply with all OSHA, DOT, and project-specific safety requirements.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Essential Skills
3+ years of heavy equipment operating experience in heavy civil, roadway, or site work.Proficiency operating multiple types of construction equipment.Ability to read and interpret construction plans, grades, and stakes.Knowledge of trench safety, excavation practices, and underground utilities.Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working on public works projects (DOT, municipal, or state) strongly preferred.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
