Position OverviewRepublic is seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team on 2nd shift. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to ensure safe and reliable fleet operations.
Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair diesel engines, trucks, and heavy equipmentPerform routine and preventative maintenance on fleet vehiclesTroubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systemsConduct inspections to identify safety and mechanical issuesComplete maintenance records and work orders accuratelyFollow all company safety policies and proceduresRequired QualificationsProven experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technicianStrong knowledge of diesel engines and related systemsAbility to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issuesExperience using diagnostic tools and shop equipmentAbility to work 2nd shift reliablyValid driver’s license (CDL a plus, if applicable)Preferred QualificationsFleet maintenance experienceWelding or fabrication experienceASE certificationsExperience with refuse trucks or similar heavy-duty equipmentWhat We OfferCompetitive pay of $32–$35/hourSteady 2nd shift scheduleOvertime opportunitiesComprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401k, PTO)Modern shop environment with well-maintained equipmentLong-term career stability and growth opportunitiesJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Frankfort, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $104000.00/yr.
