**Job Title: Heavy Assembler** **Job Description** The Heavy Assembler is responsible for assembling mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components onto snow and ice control equipment such as salt spreaders and dump bodies. This role requires reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. **Responsibilities** + Assemble large mechanical components including engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical wiring. + Use hand tools, power tools, and torque equipment to fasten parts securely. + Fit, trim, align, and adjust parts to meet specifications. + Read and follow assembly instructions, blueprints, and parts lists. + Identify and gather required parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. + Inspect assembled components for accuracy and functionality. + Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area. + Report any defects or issues to supervisors. + Work closely with welders, painters, and other production staff. + Communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion. **Essential Skills** + Experience in heavy equipment or mechanical assembly. + Ability to read blueprints and use measuring tools. + Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods. + Knowledge of manufacturing process, general labor, assembling, and use of hand and power tools. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Manufacturing experience. + Proficiency in following work orders. + Familiarity with industrial manufacturing settings. **Why Work Here?** Our company provides competitive wages and a range of benefits including medical, prescription, dental, and vision insurance plans. Our central location ensures a convenient commute. **Work Environment** The work environment is an industrial manufacturing setting located in Lindenwood, IL. The facility is large, open, well-lit, clean, and updated, featuring designated assembly stations with heavy machinery, welding equipment, hydraulic systems, and overhead cranes. Work hours are primarily first shift from 5 am to 1:30 pm, often extending to 10-hour days, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday overtime. The physical demands include frequent lifting of heavy components (often 50+ lbs), bending, kneeling, and standing for long periods. The facility may experience temperature variations, and noise levels can be high. Personal protective equipment such as steel-toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection is required. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockford, IL 61109. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr.
