Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Domain Architect, you will serve as the subject matter expert for one or more healthcare domains, including Revenue Cycle Operations, Human Resources, Due Diligence and Integration (M&A), Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Corporate Services, IT, and Clinical Operations. You will develop domain-specific architecture models and solutions that align with our enterprise architecture standards while leveraging cloud technologies to drive innovation and operational excellence.
Healthcare Domain Expertise
+ Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more healthcare domains (Revenue Cycle, HR, M&A, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Corporate Services, IT, Clinical Operations)
+ Translate complex healthcare business requirements into architectural solutions
+ Develop domain-specific reference architectures and solution patterns
+ Ensure architectural alignment with healthcare regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITECH, etc.)
+ Stay current with healthcare industry trends and best practices
+ Bridge communication between business stakeholders and technical teams
Architecture Development and Modeling
+ Create and maintain comprehensive solution architectures using the ArchiMate modeling language
+ Develop business, application, data, and technology architecture models
+ Design healthcare-based solutions that address domain-specific requirements
+ Document architecture decisions and rationales
+ Ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards and patterns
+ Collaborate with enterprise architects to maintain architectural coherence
Cloud Solution Design
+ Design domain-specific cloud solutions leveraging AWS, Azure, and GCP capabilities
+ Evaluate and recommend appropriate cloud services for domain requirements
+ Ensure cloud solutions comply with healthcare security and compliance standards
+ Optimize cloud architectures for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
+ Develop migration strategies for transitioning domain systems to cloud platforms
+ Collaborate with cloud solution architects on implementation approaches
Strategic Planning and Governance
+ Participate in domain-specific strategic planning initiatives
+ Evaluate emerging technologies for domain application
+ Contribute to architectural governance processes
+ Review and approve domain solution designs
+ Participate in Architecture Review Board meetings
+ Guide implementation teams through architectural decision-making
Stakeholder Engagement
+ Partner with business leaders to understand domain requirements and challenges
+ Communicate architectural concepts to non-technical stakeholders
+ Facilitate architecture workshops and discovery sessions
+ Build consensus around architectural approaches
+ Provide domain expertise during project planning and execution
+ Mentor junior architects in domain-specific knowledge areas
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, or related field
+ 8+ years of experience as a Domain or Solution architect
+ Expertise in at least two domains from: Revenue Cycle, HR, M&A, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Corporate Services, IT, Clinical Operations
+ Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, DoDAF, Zachman)
+ Proficiency in architecture modeling using ArchiMate 3
+ Strong understanding of cloud service models and architecture patterns
+ Experience designing solutions for healthcare environments
+ Experience in technology roadmapping
Strongly Desired Qualifications:
+ Open Group Certified ArchiMate 3 Practitioner
+ Open Group Certified in TOGAF 9/10
+ One or more cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
+ Degree in Healthcare Informatics or related field
+ Multiple healthcare domain expertise areas
+ Experience with healthcare standards and interoperability (HL7, FHIR, etc.)
+ Healthcare industry certifications (CPHIMS, CHIA, etc.)
+ Experience with healthcare application suites (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
+ Background in healthcare business process modeling
+ Experience with healthcare merger and acquisition integration
+ Healthcare Systems:
+ EHR/EMR systems
+ Revenue cycle management systems
+ Supply chain management
+ Clinical systems
+ Financial systems
+ HR systems
Required Skills:
+ Ability to translate business requirements into solution architectures
+ Strong healthcare domain knowledge or strong experience with HR (HCM), Finance, and/or M&A
+ Excellent communication and stakeholder management
+ Strategic thinking and business acumen
+ Deep understanding of architecture principles
+ Problem-solving and analytical thinking
+ Technical documentation, modeling, and diagramming
+ Eastern or Central time zone strongly preferred
