**Job Summary and Responsibilities**
As a Department Support Assistant, you will provide essential general office and clerical support within a specific location.
Every day you will perform clerical tasks, utilizing basic office equipment and computer terminals, while adhering to established procedures that primarily impact your immediate unit.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a strong ability to learn on the job, efficiently execute secretarial duties, and adhere to guidelines under direct supervision, contributing to departmental efficiency.
+ Prepares the medical record on admission of the patient.
+ Enters physician orders per hospital protocols and procedures with accuracy and timeliness.
+ Ensures the patient chart is available.
+ Completes admission, transfer and discharge functions per protocol.
+ Prepares other paperwork as required - vaccine administration records, newborn screening documents, etc.
+ Ensures needed forms are available in the patient chart.
**Job Requirements**
Required
+ High School GED General Studies, upon hire or
+ Equivalent combination of education and experience and
+ Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
Preferred
+ Previous experience with patient caremodule or PC and
+ One (1) year of experienceas a unit secretary in an acute caresetting

Located in the Phoenix, Ariz., suburb of Chandler, the Chandler Regional Medical Center is a 429-bed, not-for-profit hospital with more than 2,600 team members and almost 1,000 doctors on staff representing all major specialties. Dignity Health Chandler Regional, Mercy Gilbert, and Arizona General Hospital Mesa awarded $422,000 in grants to support five community projects led by 15 local organizations. Since 1991, Dignity Health's Community Health Improvement Grants program has provided $91 million to nearly 3,800 health projects, focusing on vulnerable and underserved populations.
**Pay Range**
$18.00 - $21.71 /hour
