RESPONSIBILITIES **I. JOB SUMMARY:** • Assists Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) in the daily operations of The Queen’s Medical Center’s (QMC) Radiation Safety program. • Provides technical field support for assigned areas to resolve issues related to health physics, radioactive materials and/or radiation generating devices as applicable to Cyclotron and Nuclear Medicine operations at all The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS) facilities. • Provides backup assistance to the RSO. **II. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:** • Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. • Exposure to body fluids, communicable diseases, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, radiation, odors and skin irritants. • Work environment is fast paced, frequently stressful; works on multiple tasks and priorities at the same time and requires critical decision-making. **IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** A. EDUCATION: • Master's degree or PhD in health physics or related field. B. CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE: Must obtain board certification within four (4) years of entrance into the position in one (1) of the following: American Board of Health Physics (CHP), American Board of Science in Nuclear Medicine, or American Board of Medical Physics (Medical Health Physics). • Hawaii State license in Health Physics or Associate Radiation Safety Officer (ARSO) status with Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) preferred.
